Top 5 Popular Posts of 2016

While 2016 was pretty much an emotional roller-coaster for most of us, it was a stellar year for me gastronomically speaking. Happily, I’ve eaten in so many new and different places this year, both in the U.S. and in the Philippines. Of course, that’s also the reason why I still have so many pending blog posts about the restaurants I visited in the Philippines. 🙂

Anyway, here’s a series of flashbacks thanks to my blog’s top five popular posts of 2016. Like last year’s post, the popularity is based on page views, not comments, Facebook likes or shares.

Now here’s the top five. . .

1. The Aftermath: Homage to Fromage @ Saybrook Point

I’m glad to see this post end up as the most popular. After all. . .

Tasting 15 different cheeses paired with excellent wines is definitely a recipe for a great evening!

2. The Pandorica

I visited The Pandorica way before I finished binge-watching Doctor Who. I had no idea what the Pandorica was. I didn’t know why the TARDIS was inside the dinosaur’s mouth. Plus the mysterious exploding TARDIS in Van Gogh’s Starry Night? What was that about? Once I was done watching, I have a newfound appreciation for Doctor Who. Another visit is definitely in order! After all, I still need to try their fish fingers and custard.

3. Barcelona Wine Bar

This is a different brunch menu altogether. Have you ever eaten huevos a la Flamenca, grilled duck hearts and torrijas for brunch? Me neither. . . until we went to Barcelona Wine Bar.

4. Copas Restaurant & Bar

This restaurant is not even a five-minute drive from where we live! We kept passing it by and finally decided to try their food. No regrets.

5. Mecha Noodle Bar

This is the second Mecha Noodle Bar branch, the one that stays up late and feeds you if you’re still up and about past 10 p.m. Their Red Oil Dumplings with pork, shrimp, sichuan vinegar and cilantro still make me hungry when I think about it. Can’t wait to go back!

There you have it, the top five popular posts of 2016. Let’s all thank 2016 for what it brought us.

Here’s to more good eating and drinking in 2017!
