Eating Out: Waterside Restobar @ Solaire Resort & Casino | Paranaque City, Manila, Philippines

Since I arrived here in the Philippines, I’ve been doing more than my fair share of eating out. (Hey, someone needs to do it, right? I’m willing to take one for the team.) Of course, that means there are a lot of places to write about.

Two weeks ago, my family and I spent the night at Solaire Resort & Casino in Paranaque City, Manila. While the casino itself was quite entertaining, our little troop was focused on where we’d eat for dinner. We had many choices for both fine dining and casual dining. Finestra was up for consideration, but since my mom and my younger sister ate there already, we opted for somewhere new to all of us. We chose Waterside Restobar because they had no dress code (hah!) and it was close to the Sky Tower where we were billeted.

We didn’t make any reservations. We just showed up and we got seated immediately.

I was in the mood for sangria so I asked our server what he recommends. He suggested their Kiwi & Strawberry Sangria. It had white wine, cinnamon liqueur, cherry blossom, strawberry syrup and sugar to start our dinner at Waterside Restobar. Pretty, isn’t it?

For our appetizer, my sister Lynn ordered their Lollipop – cherry tomatoes with bocconcini and basil.

I ordered their Churrasco Pork Loin.

My sister Lani had their Pork Belly Adobo.

Our mom went for Bicol Express.

My sister Lynn tried their Baked Sicilian Tetrazinni.

Verdict: Two of the four dishes we ordered can be considered home-style, classic Filipino dishes, so you might wonder, “why on earth did you guys order those? You can get ’em anywhere!” Well, it’s always interesting to see what twists they can make on a classic – whether it’s in the presentation, the actual cooking method or the ingredients.

Waterside Restobar is casual dining in a lovely, relaxed ambiance. Service was pretty friendly without the server fawning all over us. The prices were surprisingly relatively affordable. If you’re headed to Solaire Resort & Casino anytime soon, then definitely head to Waterside Restobar.
