Yummy Experiment #24: Cream Drop Biscuits

Yummy Experiment #24: Cream Drop Biscuits

Today I found a half-pint carton of heavy whipping cream in the refrigerator, which I didn’t know what to do with. I know I used it before to make frosting, but I haven’t baked cupcakes lately. Expiration is right around the corner and I wasn’t about to throw it away. What a waste!

Thank goodness for Epicurious! I searched for “heavy whipping cream” and a caboodle of recipes using heavy whipping cream came up. I went with their recipe for cream drop biscuits.

I used a whisk to stir it, but it became unwieldy after I added the cream. I thought our hand mixer will help. No dice. I ended up mixing the dough by hand to make sure all the flour got incorporated.

The recipe suggested “dropping” the dough on the baking sheet. Instead, I rolled it into a log and cut it accordingly.

Instead of the unusually shaped biscuits we see often, mine actually looked non-biscuit-looking.
